Global Stewardship Codes Network

The Global Stewardship Codes Network, is an informal network that enables members to share information and views on the development and implementation of codes. Participation in the Network is open to all organisations responsible for developing stewardship codes, principles or best practice and/or monitoring their implementation (where this is undertaken). Please see our Terms of Reference

The ICGN Global Stewardship Principles (GSP) first published in 2003, provide an international framework for investors to implement their fiduciary obligations on behalf of clients and beneficiaries. The Principles, along with the ICGN Model Mandate published in 2012, have been emulated in markets around the world, most notably in Asia and Europe. The ICGN GSP were last updated in 2020 and are reviewed periodically.

Many ICGN Members promote high standards of investor stewardship and have publicly demonstrated this by endorsing ICGN’s Global Stewardship Principles as ICGN Stewardship Endorsers.
